De Zwitserse Bondsstaat (ook wel Zwitsers Eedgenootschap of Zwitserse Confederatie), kortweg Zwitserland (Duits Schweiz, Frans: la Suisse, Italiaans Svizzera, Reto-Romaans: Svizra), is een land in het midden van Europa met als buren Duitsland in het noorden, Frankrijk in het westen, Italië in het zuiden, Oostenrijk en Liechtenstein in het oosten.
De officiële talen in Zwitserland zijn Duits, Frans, Italiaans en Reto-Romaans.
Het land staat ook bekend onder zijn Latijnse benaming Confœderatio Helvetica (CH).
